Menorca is a small island located in the Mediterranean Sea. This tiny island is about 30 miles across & 12 miles wide but has a great deal to offer tourists. We have access to some of the finest villas in Menorca resorts with their beautiful views & luxurious interiors.
Menorca is the most easterly of the Balearic Islands with a total extension of 689 square km between the capes of "La Mola" and "Bajolí". The island has two totally different zones - "Tramontana" and "Migjorn"; the northern zone, due to numerous faults in the terrain is more abrupt and the most beautiful natural harbours can be found in its irregular coastline. On the other hand, the southern zone has a gentle and homogeneous landscape, with deep valleys; its coastline is more rectilinear with cliffs and long beaches. We can find in the centre of the island its highest mountain with only 357.96 m.
Cala Galdana
Cala Galdana bay is considered one of the most beautiful coves in the Western Mediterranean. It is protected by high cliffs and there's shade from fragrant pine trees that surround this attractive hideaway. Cala Galdana is also an ideal starting point for many walks along the picturesque south coast towards Mahon. Cala Galdana is hard to beat for a relaxing holiday and also offers watersports and tennis courts. The horseshoe bay, turquoise sea and powdery white sand make this arguably the prettiest part of the island. The secluded bay of Macarella is also only a relatively short walk away. You reach the beach down steps cut into the rock. There are other splendid beaches at nearby Son Bou and Cala'n Porter. Nearby Ciudadela is a quaint old town with cobbled streets and narrow passages, and boasts some of the best shops on the island. Leather is a particularly good buy. Cala Galdana can be quiet in the evening, with nightlife consisting of a peaceful drink as the sun sets over the glittering waters of the sea. Son Bou and Cala'n Porter are livelier with a selection of bars and a few discos. There are an adequate number of restaurants in Cala Galdana, including cafe-bars, international cuisine and typical Spanish dishes. This resort is perfect for older couples or families with small children. If you want a relaxing holiday it is ideal.
Ciutadella
Situated on the west coast of the island, Ciutadella is a stylish place to visit that is well known for sumptuous fish restaurants serving the local catch of the day. Ciutadella was Menorca's original capital and the city oozes history with many sites to visit, and in many ways is very similar to Pollença in Mallorca. Of particular note is Castell Sant Nicolas, a 17th century defence tower now used as an exhibition gallery (and also a beautiful vantage point for watching the sun set). Ciutadella's cathedral is another stunning building, originally a mosque then rebuilt in 1287 when Alfonso III defeated the Moors and claimed Menorca for Christianity. Wherever you go - do it slowly! Ciutadella is the hub of Menorca's cafe society, so take time to sit, relax and watch the world go by.
