Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe5th October 2008
Held each October, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is the French equivalent of England's Ascot and is one of the most important horse racing meetings on the European race calendar. Held at the Hippodrome de Longchamp in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, the race is open to thoroughbred horses aged three years and over. The excitement of the races is augmented by the flurry of betting that takes place before each race with excited punters cheering on their chosen stead, willing it to cross the finish line first.
